All Hail the New King and Queen of Charming!

Well Season 4 of Sons of Anarchy has drawn to a close and a lot has happened since the boys got out of Stockton in the first episode. Kurt Sutter, the show runner for SOA, took us to completely new places this season. It was unpredictably entertaining and awesome. This season answered lots of questions that had been posed during the first 3 seasons but it also brought up just as many new ones.

We all knew Jax wouldn’t leave Charming or Samcro. He couldn’t leave and have the show go on. The show is called Sons of Anarchy and is about a motorcycle club in Charming, Ca. Not about an uneducated, mediocre mechanic and his doctor wife raising their children in Portland. How they kept Jax in Charming; however, was a complete surprise. The heads of the Galindo Cartel are working with the CIA to over throw the other Mexican Cartels to control the drug trade. I didn’t see that one coming since Romeo and his Lieutenant have a rather large body count this season. Many fans aren’t happy about this out of left field twist but I’m willing to put my trust in Sutter and enjoy the ride. Then the Cartel blackmails Jax into taking the gavel and not killing Clay so that the gun deal with the Irish will push through and the cartel will have all the fire power they need. I actually think Jax not killing Clay was a good move. I wanted him dead just like anyone else. Come on, he killed 1/3 of the original members of Sons of Anarchy but he’s received a fate far worse than death for him. Having to sit at the table that is no longer his, that he worked so hard and killed for and now just getting a measly vote. Clay is no longer president; he’s not even an officer. I think this is actually worse for him than being stripped of his cut. Jax wants Opie to be his VP which is understandable. They’ve grown up together and have always been best friends. I don’t know what kind of bff shoots the other in the wrist but I then again I was never brought up in an outlaw environment. Chibbs now sits to Jax’s right as the new sergeant at arms. I figured that would happen. No way would Tig keeps being SAA. Jax and Tig have never seemed to fully trust or like one another. The President can’t have a SAA that he doesn’t fully trust. Tara chose to stay. That’s no surprise. She wants Jax. As she said before he is hers. As Jax takes his rightful birth place as a Teller at the head of the table to lead his first sermon at Church we see Tara standing behind him.  The new King at the head of the table and his Queen standing behind him being crowned as the new royal family of Sons of Anarchy.

As we look towards season 5 there are many questions to be answered. What’s going to happen with death of LaRoy’s girl? Her daddy is a big time gangster in Oakland and I doubt he takes too kindly to his daughter being killed. Will Tara become the new Gemma? She’s supporting her man unconditionally but is she really ready to be “they” old lady. What’s Wendy’s plan and how will it play out? I actually thought it’d be a great twist if Wendy and Tara become lesbian lovers and took off with the boys but then the Heir and the Spare to the kingdom of Samcro would no longer be in the picture. What will Opie do? Return to the life he’s always known and sacrificed and lost so much for or become his own man. The biggest question for the next season is in which father’s footsteps will Jax follow; Clay or JT? Or will Jax finally pave his own path?
We only have to wait 9 months to find out.
