Introducing The Officer
Today, I am introducing an old friend from my days at bible school who will I will be referring to as The Officer. Back in the day we were as thick as thieves and partners in crime. We lived a couple of doors down from each other in the dorm. The Officer is quite the stereotype. She's an ex-softball player, lesbian, who is now a police officer and once had a stint as a construction worker. She's coming into town tonight to stay for the weekend for a surprise birthday party for The Asian Sensation. The Asian Sensation is also an old friend from my bible school days who just moved back to the area. So tonight there will be a lot of old friends getting together to celebrate and catch up. My liver is already dreading tomorrow. I'll keep you all updated on how it goes if I survive.
Return of The Sergeant
The Sergeant is coming back into town. He should be here tonight. He just graduated from Airborne school in Georgia and has a week off before he needs to report to Kentucky. We are so proud of him and excited to have him come back to visit!

Glad We Cleared That Up
I keep seeing all of these posts of ecards like what's below on facebook.
Um, I'd finding it concerning if you weren't angry that someone was messing with your kids. Thanks for telling me that you'll defend your child as you should. The fact that you put it on facebook proves to me what a great mom you are.

Goodbye Opie
On last night's episode of Sons of Anarchy was killed in prison battle royale style. I was couldn't even watch it. I had read spoilers and knew that it was probably going to be Opie but it didn't make it any easier. I think it may have been worse because it came to fruition and so did my disappointment. So we must say goodbye to Opie Winston and his beard.

Tablecloth Chic
I am obsessed with these silver Lauren Conrad Foil Brocade shorts. The pattern on them looks like you would see on your grandma's tablecloth. I love anything that is old lady chic. I can totally picture me wearing them to holiday parties with black tights, heels and a sweater. I'm so in love.

Like a Boss
Kerri Walsh Jennings just revealed she was 5 weeks pregnant during the London Games where she picked up her third Olympic Gold Medal in Women's Beach Volleyball. Jennings is now a eleven weeks along and this will be her third child. Seriously, this lady is a beast. Pregnant and still getting it done. She's a boss! All I can I think of right now is Beyonce's Run the World (Girls) because there's a line where she says,
"Boy I know you love it
How we're smart enough to make these millions
Strong enough to bear the children
Then get back to business."
Kerri, was strong enough to carry a child while handling her business in victorious fashion. Go ahead and try to tell me she's not gangster. Try, I'll wait....

New Low
I hit a new low today when I used my pen, the same pen I use every day at work, to mix an energy packet into my drink. I was desperate for the caffeine and used what resources I had available as a stirrer. Now my hand is sticky.....

Wake and Shake
Since I'm still not sleeping I've taken to drinking obnoxious amounts of music and listening to music that will get you moving so I can actually be coherent enough to drive myself to work in the mornings. Here's my playlist.
1. Jennifer Lopez - Dance Again
2. Drake - Take Care
3. Drake - Headlines
4. Drake - HYFR (A young Drake dancing at the beginning of this video during his first bar mitzvah cracks me up every time.)
5. Nicki Minaj - Beez in the Trap
6. Iggy Azalea - Murda Bizness
7. Tyga - Rack City
8. Beyonce - Run the World

Pot Meet Kettle
Lindsay Lohan is starting a twitter war with Amanda Bynes. Apparently, Lindsay finds in unfair that she went to jail for her numerous offenses but Bynes has not. Mind you, Bynes currently has a suspended license and just had her car impounded. More than likely she will serve some type of jail time. Probably 86 minutes of jail time. I just find it funny that Lindsay Lohan thinks she has a right to judge anyone. Really? It's kind of like a high class escort calling a street prostitute a whore. Ummm..... one of you just makes more than the other but you both do the same job(s).

Caffeine IV, Stat!
I haven't slept much in the last 5 days. If I'm lucky, 5 hours of restless sleep each night. For someone who does well on 7 hours of sleep a night, it's been rough. I'm functioning but my brain is cloudy. I had a moment yesterday where I didn't even feel like I was me, more like a dream version of me. I guess you could call it an out of body experience. It was completely weird. These are the days that I wish I liked coffee. I would be all kinds of wired. At least there's tea. I have no good, logical explanation as to why I can't sleep. I was up late on Friday on the internet. I was reading an article, checked the time on my computer, thought to myself, "Just one more then bed time." Next thing I know it's 4 hours later and 3am. Ever since then I've just been laying there watching Leo (my dream lites pillow pet) change colors. Oh, how I do love Leo.
I thought this was you. I love these cards. |

#100!
Just realized I posted my 100th post on this blog.
It's a celebration! Go Bitter is the New Black!
It's Friday!
Went to breakfast with The Brother this morning to celebrate his birthday. I got off work 4.5 hours early because I wasn't actually needed at a benefits fair that I was scheduled to work. It felt really weird to leave so early. Honestly, I felt like I was cheating the system even though I had permission to leave. Then I went to dinner with my parents since they were taking The Brother out in celebration. Plus, we had rain with hurricane force winds and I live in land-locked state. It's been a great Friday and hopefully a great start to an awesome weekend.

Rookie Blue
The season finale of Rookie Blue season 3 is on tonight. I suggest you watch it.
The crew from 15 division. (thetvaddict.com) |
Just watched the finale and I can't help but feeling let down, disappointed and underwhelmed. I just don't quite get the point of the finale or where the direction the show is going in. It's like really, that's the best you could do. You feel that was your best work, the best finale you could create. I'm calling shenanigans. I'll tune in for season 4 only because Ben Bass is cute and it'd be rude to not watch him grace my television with his presence.

Static Noise
Today was an extremely busy day at work. I think I was only able to leave the desk three times total which is very unusual. It was just a constant go today. I'm drained from the day and ready to go to bed but now I can't get my brain to shut off. It's like white noise in my head. Weird.

Walking the Battlefield
Today, The Sergeant and I visited in Wilson's Creek Battlefield. It's kind of funny that I've grown up in this area and have been once in elementary for a school reason. We decided to check it out. We ended up walking the 4.9 mile loop around the park and cutting down some other paths for roughly 6 miles. It was a good walk with hills. I did crap out around the last mile though. I just got hot and once I got real hot I was done. I thought I was kicking flames with each step I took. It was fun though. I plan on doing it again. Once the fall weather hits.

It Was a Spinnin'
It's been raining all day here which is awesome since we desperately need it. On my highway commute to my parents' house today the car ahead of me started spinning out of control. It spun off the road down the embankment, into a ditch 15-20 feet down. I pulled over to see if they needed help. They were fine and the car seemed fine as well. Luckily.
