For Christmas this year I decided
to do homemade gifts for several family members. All of the things I
have made have been inspired by Pinterest. If you don't know what
Pinterest is google it. It will change your
life. Seriously. I really like the look of pictures on canvas but there
is no way in Hell that I'm paying $60 for an 8x10. When I know the
canvas cost $4 and the print cost less than $2. Anyways, Pinterest has
great tutorials on ways to get the same look doing
it yourself. My first attempt was horrible. It had nothing to do with
the tutorial I followed, that part was great here. It had
everything to do with the size and pictures I used and my utter lack of
patience. This method will give your pictures
a distressed look because no matter what you do some of the picture will
come off. I wouldn't recommend using pictures of children because they
tend to look like demon children. They end up missing part of an arm or
having a streak in their face or in my case
missing an entire eye. If you wanted to landscape pictures or pictures
of objects than this method would definitely be awesome. Another reason
this type didn't work for me is because I don't have the patience for
it. Patience was not a virtue I was blessed
with and it takes a lot of self control on my part to demonstrate it.
This is not the type of project that I can do so on. I didn't want to
take the time to peel of layer after layer after layer of the picture.
Plus, every time I did more of the picture came
of which led to more frustration on my apart. Then I tried this other
tutorial here. This one worked out much better for
me. I didn't put scrapbook paper on the sides because I used 11x14's
mostly for my picture canvas and so the paper would
have been too small. I also just like the look of painted canvas better.
Check out the pictues I have posted of this little art project below.
Those little girls are my two adorably awesome nieces. The other two are
pictures my oldest brother took while he
was stationed in Europe of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. He's got
some pretty sick photographic skills.
Bitter is the New Black is sarcastic, dry, and all around awesome written by a blonde reluctant adult trying to remember to put on her big girl pants every day.

Fashion Week
It's Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris currently and Ellie Saab just debuted their 2012 collection and it's fabulous. Wonderful pastel colors ruled the catwalk this time around which is perfect with spring coming soon. They always have the most beautiful dresses. Below are my favorite looks.

Mob Wives
Everyone who knows me knows that I have a shamefully sick obsession with bad reality tv shows. MTV's Jersey Shore or The Real Housewives of whatever city may come to mind but nothing compares to what Vh1 dishes out. They have Basketball Wives (LA) , Love & Hip Hop, T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, and my personal favorite Mob Wives. It combines the foul mouthedness of Jersey Shore with the glitz of the Real Housewives and the money T.I. & Tiny while making a name for yourself, albeit from the men in your life. It's the epitome of addictive reality television.

The main "characters" on the show Renee, Drita, Carla, and Karen. Drita and Carla had ex-husbands who were involved in organized crime while Rene and Karen's fathers were. In the second season we have been introduced to Big Ang and Ramona. Each girl brings a unique flavor to the table but the underlying factor is that they all have smart mouths, secretly love drama, and live by a set of their own rules.
Renee is a drama queen. She tends to freak out about everything and stews in anger over the small stuff. She is; however, an extremely loyal friend no matter what.

Drita is tough as nails. She doesn't take lip from anyone and she is also not Italian.

Carla is the classiest of the all the ladies. She often finds the drama laughable.

Karen puts on quite the persona. She talks a really big game kind of like how when I take my bichon, Henry, out for a walk and he barks at the German Shepard down the street. He knows nothings really going to happen.

Big Ang had a couple of uncles in the life. Big Ang is my favorite. She is the woman that you want to be friends with. Her voice sounds like she's smoked for a while and her laugh is infectious. There's no doubt that I want Big Ang to be my new bff.

Ramona is Karen's friend. Ramona grew up in the mob life since her grandfather was a high ranking mobster. She is a trouble maker with a pretty face.

Obviously, I have declared my love for Big Ang but I must also state that I am Team Drita all day everyday. Those who watch the show know what I mean when I say that. Mob Wives airs every Sunday at 8/7c on Vh1. I think you all should watch so you know what I'm talking about when I blog about the show next time and because it's just awesomely entertaining.

Slap a long wig on him with that old school Grecian crown and you've got yourself a top female model in a fashion editorial.
