Feminist

It always irritates me whenever I hear a woman say that she's not a feminist. So, you don't want to be seen as a equal? Earn the same as a man for doing the same job? Have an education? Wear whatever you want? Have freedom? Have options? Sleep with whomever you choose? Chase your dreams? Not be slut shamed? Be ambitious? Want the most out of life for yourself? Live the life you want? If you are a woman and say you are not a feminist, then I feel sorry for you. I feel sorry that you don't feel you deserve to have the same treatment as the men around you. That you do not have the same value as your male counterparts. That you are not worthy of everything has to have offer because you were born female. It's shameful that women today are not proud to be feminists because you have turned your back on the women before you who have put in the work for you to earn the right to say such an ignorant and discriminatory thing.

ZODIAC LIBRA FACTS - Libras tend to have very loud laughs or talking voices. There are very few that don’t.
Very true. I always take pride in this. I can be a little judgmental at times (who isn't), but I am never close minded.
That pretty much sums me up . . . expect the profanity language, which I don't speak at all.

It's a Small Dating Pool After All

I've been binge watching Gossip Girl on Netflix for the last two days and had a random thought pop into my head. They say you've slept with everyone that your partner has slept with. Well Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald on the show) used to date Carrie Underwood who dated Tony Romo who married Candice Crawford. Yes, you read those matching last names correctly. Candice Crawford is Chace Crawford's sister. So they basically have slept together via Tony Romo. How incestuous.

Hey There Adulthood

Still coming to terms with being an adult
I had this same thought the other day when I met up with Meckles (Mama Beckles and the Asian Sensation) and Jose for after work dinner and drinks. We were in our work clothes and the majority of our time was spent talking about work, insurance and the Meckles' new house. I totally had this moment of, "Whoa, we're adults." Crazy too think how much your life changes in just a few years.

Allergic Reaction

I must be super allergic to stupidity because I have sarcasm break outs all the time.
That explains it!

Girl Fight

Source: Yahoo Sports
I went out with some friends to watch history be made. What I watched was the first ever female UFC fight. The champion, Ronda Rousey fought contender, Liz Carmouche. My friend, Momma Becker and I took bets like always. She took Rousey as she was defending her title and thought she looked ready to rumble. I took Carmouche as she is a USA Veteran, did three tours of duty as a Marine. Liz is also openly gay. I know, I know, shocker. Well Rousey won with an arm bar with 14 seconds left in the first round. That would make Rousey's seventh first round win by arm bar. I lost. Oh well,  I'm always taking the Vet. This fight totally made up for the snooze fest that was Henderson vs. Machida the event before.I think it's great that Dana White and the UFC have embraced and invited women into this sport. Kudos!

Also, another great thing that I realized when Carmouche came out was how much she looks like Urijah Faber. It's uncanny especially when they both have mouth pieces in.

The Nieces

The Nieces are doing great. B started going to school recently and she is loving it. She really loves to learn so she is in completely in her element there. M is doing great and starting to come out of her shell more and more. She is turning into quite the sassy pants.
This is the look you give to your Auntie when she tells you to share your cookies with your sister.
Breakfast with Santa. That's a pink penguin on her cheek.

Whoops, my bad

Where the h have I been? Its been 2 months since I last blogged. I suck. Its been a busy couple of months. I got a new job with better hours and more pay. Its been hard to adjust my sleeping schedule and to remember I can run errands after work. Then the holidays came with the Sergeant coming home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas for the first time in at least ten years. It was good to have him home. I promise I'll be more diligent in my blogging from now on. I've got lots to catch up the blogiverse up on.

Happy Halloween!

I had an awesome Halloween weekend/week. The Friday before Halloween I went up to Columbia to visit The Officer since she was throwing a party. It was a lot of fun. I forgot how fun just having a house party is. The Asian Sensation and Beckles also came up for the festivities. I'm going to have to go back up again since it was so much fun. In case you were curious I went to that party as a tiger. It's such an easy and comfortable costume it's my go to when I don't have a costume ready. Since we are able to dress up at work and I'm really awesome at doing the faces it was a no brainer for me to go as a toddlers and tiaras princess. Well making that happen was definitely easier said than done. I thought I could just roll into a consignment shop and get a dress. Lies. I couldn't find a damn thing. I was lucky enough to find a body suit/tutu combo and my costume was born from there. I took that, another Tutu and my old prom dress and one of my coworkers was generous enough to create a master piece for me. It turned out to be more awesome than I could ever imagine. I love it. Go ahead and try to tell me I don't look amazing  ..... I'll wait.
Yep, you're seeing that right. Those are lace socks.
Shoot, it's so good that I want to wear out when I'm required to wear something more then jeans and a T-shirt. If you can wear it with confidence then you can wear it.

Douchey

In a douche move some of Justin Timberlake's friends videotaped homeless people wishing him and his wife a happy wedding day. Clearly in an ironic take on these people's misfortunes. I hope that his friends at least paid these people to be on camera or at least gave them something to eat.

Weekend Wrap-Up

I had a very busy, fun filled weekend. Friday night I went to Michael's, Kohl's, and Hy-Vee. On Saturday I had to work for 2 hours. Then Lulu and I went out for lunch. We went to El Sombrero, home of the sombrero. It's a hole in the wall Mexican place. It was very good and cheap. I'll definitely be going back. Especially on a Thursday when they have margaritas for 99 cents. I also got my cartilage re pierced on Saturday which I drug Lulu to to make sure I didn't turn out butch. Later that evening I went to a wedding. It was a lovely wedding and the bride's dress was beautiful. After the wedding I went to a Halloween party where I was Miss Canada. I wore flannel, a tiara, snow boots and a sash that said Miss Canada. That is my back-up costume as this year's costume is not ready yet. On Sunday I did some outlet shopping. I got new khakis, jeans and a designer purse. The purse was $160 off the original retail price. I also got a sweet blinged out lanyard for work. Then I went over to my parents' house for pizza where there was enough to feed a small army. It was delicious especially since there was taco pizza. I had an awesome weekend. Now I have 3 days of work before I start a 4 day weekend filled with more awesomeness. I'm going to see The Officer where shenanigans are sure to happen.

It's Freaking Frito Pie Day!

I woke up knowing today was going to be a good day and I was right. Firstly, it was Frito Pie day in the cafeteria at work. Some of my co-workers didn't know what Frito Pie was so I had to educate. For those of you unfortunate souls that don't know what Frito Pie is, it's a bed of Fritos, topped with chili, which is then topped with cheese. Simple and delicious.

I was so hyped up from the awesomeness of Frito Pie day that was having problems focusing and reigning my excitement back in. I just couldn't help myself. I also got all of my materials together to have a friend of mine sew together my Halloween costume. There will be pictures once it's completed. I got to go to a different facility today for work. It's always nice to switch it up. When I was on my to the other facility I got to go through a roundabout. I love those things. I may go through them a couple of times before I proceed.

Also, I'm going to Michael's after work to get some crafting supplies. I've had a great Friday and have more fun plans for this weekend. Awesome kick-start to this weekend!

Shame in the Bronx

I am a huge New York Yankees fan. Always have been. I know coming out as one will make me more hated than gay atheist who does nothing but talk politics but it I am what I am. I do; however, harbor a strong hatred for Alex Rodriguez. He is not a Yankee. He does not embody the character of a Yankee. He should not get the honor of wearing those famous pinstripes. His shenanigans during the first game of the ALCS proves that. You can read the whole story here or just continue reading for my cliff notes version. Basically, A-Rod found it appropriate to hit on some woman during the game by sending a baseball with a note on it while she watched the game in the stands. Man he is sleazy. I hope he gets ran out of the Bronx. That would totally make my day.
Inappropriate. (yahoo)
